A tattooed and romantic "Lady of Hearts"!! + TUTO ruffled sleeves

Une "Dame de Coeur" tatouée et romantique !! + TUTO manches volantées

Hello everyone!
I come today to introduce you to my latest "Dame de Coeur", which is both rebellious and romantic!
The rebellious side is the Aime comme Marie fabric, "Tattooed for the day", which I found at Motif Personnel... I don't had never really spotted before, and then, suddenly, it was dazzling: I needed a rocker's "Dame de coeur" blouse!
I chose the color Blueberry, it's a navy blue which draws on indigo blue and I love it!! Since then, I've also spotted the emerald green which caught my eye...

For the romantic side, I added little ruffles to the 3/4 sleeves...

I'll show you what it looks like, before explaining how to add ruffles ;-):

Zoom in on the little ruffles at the end of the sleeves:

The blouse seen from the back:

And here are some pictures of the blouse worn:

Blueberry "Tattooed for the day" fabric. I ordered 140cm and it's more than enough, I even have a little left.
"Dame de Coeur" pattern, size 38.
3/4 sleeves, with added frills at the end.

I took some pictures while making the ruffles so that you too can add pretty ruffles to your Queen of Hearts...

Frilled sleeves: THE TUTORIAL

Cut 2 strips of 56 x 11 cm.
Overcast the 2 short sides of each strip.
Fold each strip in half lengthwise and sew the short sides together . Open the iron seam:

Tuck in 2 x 1 cm on the bottom of each strip, and mark this hem with an iron:

Stitch the hem:

We are now going to create the gathers of the ruffles. To do this, set the machine to the widest point (5 on mine), and stitch the free edge of each ruffle. Be careful, do not backstitch! You can start your line a few mm from the central seam, and finish it a few mm before (the points of your line must not meet):

Mark the middle of each strip with a needle or pen:

Start by gathering your strip, gently pulling (not like a nag!!), the back thread of the gathering line. Your fabric will then start to gather...
Next, you will have to assemble the gathered band and the sleeve.
Start by pinning, right sides together, the ruffle to the sleeve, matching the seam of the ruffle and the seam of the sleeve. Opposite, match the middle of the band (which you had marked previously), and the middle of the sleeve.
Your challenge at the moment is to evenly distribute the gathers, using these markings, to that the gathers are evenly distributed over the entire ruffle:

You're almost there!
Sew 1cm from the edge, then overcast this seam.
All you have to do is turn your ruffle right side out, and iron well so that the seam allowance goes up.
Here you go!!!
