Today, I'm giving you a TUTO to easily transform the RENDEZ-VOUS pattern into a blouse with pompoms...
The RENDEZ-VOUS blouse is a blouse with raglan sleeves, with a yoke that forms a knot on the front.
For this new version, we will remove the bow, add a slit on the front and a cord with 2 pompoms!
CUT: cut the "Front", "Back" and "Sleeve" pieces as explained on the pattern.
- Cut out the facing of the slit, by cutting a rectangle 10 cm high, by 7 cm wide.
- Iron mark a 1 cm hem on the 2 long sides and on one short side of the facing.
- Locate the middle of your "Front" piece, by folding it in 2 and marking this fold with an iron over 10 cm. Draw a line on this 9 cm long fold with tailor's chalk or a light pencil. This line represents the slit you will create next.
- Position the slit facing on the line you just drew, right sides together. Place the wrong side of the front facing you (so you don't see the facing that is on the right side). Stitch 2mm from the line you have drawn, going all the way around it.
- Cut along the drawn line.
- Turn the facing of the slit to the wrong side of the blouse. Iron carefully.
- Sew the edges of the facing on the wrong side of the blouse to secure it to the garment, stitching 2 mm from the outer edges.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 from the booklet.
NECKLINE:
- Lay a bias across the neckline, starting on one side of the slit and ending on the other side.
- Pass a 150 cm cord through the neckline.
- Attach a pompom to each end.
Repeat step 4 of the booklet to finish the blouse.
You can pass an elastic band in the hem of the sleeves to create a bloused effect. In these cases, cut 2 times 20 cms in an elastic band of 1 cm wide maximum.
There you go, you have your new date!!
