TUTO Transform the Patron Betty Boop into a SWEATSHIRT!

TUTO Transformer le Patron Betty Boop en SWEAT !

I have prepared a little TUTO for you to transform the Pattern BETTY BOOP into a SWEATSHIRT!

You'll see, it's very simple!

The Basic Boss

We're going to start with the HIGH FRONT & HIGH BACK pieces from the BETTY BOOP pattern, low waist version.

Of course, we're not going to sew a skater skirt or basque, since we want a straight sweatshirt!

The steps to modify the pattern:

  1. The long sides of the Front & Back are lengthened by 15 cm

This is for the reference height, namely 165cm.
If you are taller or shorter, consider adding or removing a few centimeters...

Don't forget to widen a little at the hips to be sure that the sweatshirt will fit smoothly!
The easiest way to do this is to measure your hip circumference, and divide this figure into 4: this gives you the minimum length of the bottom line of the pattern to have, and add a few cm for the ease of the pattern. sweatshirt...

2. Lengthen the 3/4 sleeves by 20 cm

Warning! Don't just extend the lines of your pattern, otherwise you'll end up with a very narrow sleeve at the bottom!

Remember to measure the bottom of the pattern's sleeve, and transfer this same length to the bottom of your new sleeve...

You can then trace the sides of your new sleeve, starting from the armhole, and joining the bottom.

There you go, it's as simple as that!!

You can also add ruffles at the top of the sleeves, like I did... And then piping too, if necessary!

I love my new Sweatshirt, and I'm wearing it with LE FUT' Pants !

The whole thing is nice, isn't it?

✂️Technical info:
- Modified BETTY BOOP pattern, size 38
- I used beige fleece
- I lengthened the 15 cm sleeves (but I find them a bit short, that's why I advise you to add 20 cm instead in the tutorial)
- I put ruffles over the sleeves, but not gathered

Here you know everything!!
↪️ TELL ME in the comments if you like the idea!!
I hope you'll sew lots of Betty Sweatshirts Boop, I can't wait to see them!!!
Happy sewing,
Charlotte (and the entire Spice Girls crew)
